Excess for damage on trailers are:
DK: kr 5000,-, SE/NO: kr 7500,-, DE: €675.
Excess for damage to an electric bicycle are:
DK: kr 5000,- SE/NO: kr 7500,- DE: €675
Excess for damage to the e-trailer are:
DK: 5000,- DE: €675
The insurance does not cover damage to goods or theft of goods. The insurance only covers damages in the rental country of the Freetrailer.
You can take out Freetrailer’s insurance when you borrow your Freetrailer. If you have purchased insurance, your excess is removed, with the exceptions below.
These parts are not covered by the insurance:
- Car trailer: lock, key/electronic key (FOB), safety wire, lock box, lock split and nose wheel
- Electric bicycle: lock and chain, battery and battery charger
- E-trailer: battery, bike tow, wire, lock, steering handle and bike pennant.
Freetrailer insurance does not cover theft of trailer, e-bike and e-trailer. There will always be the above excess if they are stolen.
If damage or loss is caused, in whole or in part, by wilful misconduct or breach of these hire conditions, Freetrailer may make a claim for damages in excess of the excess amount.
The insurance does not cover damage caused to the Freetrailer when entering or leaving a car park / basement where there is no space for the Freetrailer. In such and similar cases, Freetrailer reserves the right to charge the full cost of repair or replacement of the Freetrailer.
Damage on own car
If there is hull damage to the car while driving with an insured Freetrailer, we also cover the deductible on the towing car, stated when renting a trailer – however max.:
- DK: kr. 3,500,-
- SE/NO: kr 4,500,-
- DE: €500,-
Note: This coverage does not cover glass damage and damage that occurs other than when driving a rented Freetrailer. It must be a covered hull damage, and compensation must be provided by your insurance company. In addition, the driver at the time of injury must be a registered user of the vehicle.
