Goods in an enclosed trailer
All our trailers are equipped with tie-down points to ensure that your goods can be secured properly.
It is important that the load is evenly distributed in the trailer, and we always recommend securing your goods with ropes or straps.
Even with the doors closed, acceleration and braking can cause goods to move around inside the trailer. The doors are not designed to restrain unsecured goods. As the driver, you are responsible for ensuring that the load is properly secured. According to applicable regulations, simply closing the doors is not sufficient.
Goods in an open trailer
As with an enclosed trailer, we recommend securing or covering your goods when driving with an open trailer. This also applies to garden waste and similar items, so that nothing falls out and poses a risk to other road users. As the driver, you are responsible for ensuring that the load is properly secured.
As a general rule, we recommend only transporting goods that fit within the trailer. If you need to transport something that is longer or wider, drive with extra care and make sure you follow the applicable regulations.
It is important to check whether your load extends beyond the permitted length or width. Any protruding load must also be marked in accordance with applicable regulations. Please note that special rules may apply when driving in the dark or in conditions with reduced visibility.
