We do not recommend taking a Freetrailer abroad, across national borders.
There are several reasons for this. In some countries, you may be required to present the trailer’s original registration certificate during a roadside inspection. Freetrailer does not provide the original registration document; you may risk receiving a fine or other sanctions from local authorities.
In addition, our insurance coverage is limited to the country in which the trailer was rented. If the trailer is damaged, involved in an accident, stolen, or otherwise requires assistance while abroad, you are fully responsible for any costs incurred.
Should the trailer become unusable outside the country of rental, you are responsible for arranging and paying for its transport back to the country where it was collected. Freetrailer does not provide trailer recovery or collection services outside national borders.
For these reasons, we strongly recommend using the trailer only within the country where it was rented.
