How to Use Our Electric Cargo Bike Type B
Using the Chain and Lock
Pick-up:
When collecting your cargo bike, you’ll need to unlock it. Simply open the Freetrailer app and tap the unlock button.
Remember to keep the chain and lock with you while using the bike.
Return:
When returning the cargo bike, reattach the lock to the chain. Thread the chain through the wheel and frame to ensure the bike is properly secured.
Please note that the lock used to secure the bike to the post may vary, so follow the instructions provided at the location.
Activating the Battery and Using Electric Assistance
Turning on the battery is easy. Simply press the power button on the handlebars to activate the electric assistance.
Once the battery is switched on, you can adjust the assistance level to suit your needs. Increase the assistance when you need more power or reduce it when cycling at a slower pace.
The bike also features a convenient walk-assist function. This provides motor assistance while you’re walking alongside the bike, making it easier to manoeuvre when carrying heavier loads.
Remember to switch off the battery when you’ve finished your ride to conserve power. Simply press the power button again.
Charging Your Electric Cargo Bike
Pick-up:
Before using the cargo bike, remember to disconnect the charging cable.
Leave the cable safely at the charging station to protect it from damage and weather conditions.
Your bike is now ready to use.
Return:
When returning the cargo bike, reconnect the charging cable to the bike’s charging port.
If the connector doesn’t fit immediately, try rotating it gently until it connects correctly.
Important: Always check that the bike is properly connected to the charger before leaving. This ensures that the next person can rent a fully charged bike.
Checking the Electric Cargo Bike for Damage
Pick-up: Inspect the bike
Before starting your rental, take a moment to inspect the cargo bike for any visible damage.
If you notice anything broken or unusual, report it through the Freetrailer app before beginning your ride.
If everything looks good, you’re ready to go.
Return: Prepare the bike for the next user
When you’ve finished your rental, please check the bike for any damage that may have occurred during your ride.
Also check that the tyres are properly inflated.
Before leaving the bike, remove any belongings or rubbish from the cargo area, ensuring it is clean and empty for the next user.
This helps us provide a great experience for everyone using our cargo bikes.
Adjusting Your Bike Seat

Turning On the Bike Lights
To switch on the bike lights, simply press the light icon on the handlebars.

Yes! You can rent an electric cargo bike free of charge for 2 hours with Freetrailer.
Our cargo bikes are available at selected IKEA and Silvan locations.
If you rent an available electric cargo bike directly, the first 2 hours are free.
Simply find a bike, pick it up and transport your belongings home.
Your reservation is valid for three hours, during which the bike is reserved for you.
You can also reserve an electric cargo bike in advance if you want to make sure one is available when you need it.
Remember to return the bike to the same location where you picked it up within the free 2-hour rental period to avoid additional charges.
You can also choose optional insurance for extra protection in case of damage.
You can rent an electric cargo bike directly through the Freetrailer app.
You don’t need to visit or make a purchase at the store to use our electric cargo bikes.
Simply find an available bike in the app, reserve it and follow the pick-up instructions.
The entire rental process is self-service through the app, from collection to return.
You must always complete your rental through the Freetrailer app.
You can find your exact return time in your rental agreement, which is available in the app and sent to you by email.
When you arrive back at the pick-up location, open the app and follow the return instructions.
Your rental is officially completed once you’ve finished the return process in the Freetrailer app and received a confirmation email.
The electric cargo bike has an estimated battery range of 50–70 km.
If you have the appropriate adapter, you can also charge the bike yourself.
You’ll need a Danish male plug to CEE female adapter.
If your electric cargo bike runs out of battery during your rental, you can continue cycling using the pedals.
The bike still works without electric assistance, so you can return it to the rental location even if the battery is empty.
Please note that Freetrailer does not cover the cost of collecting a bike due to a flat battery.
Remember to reconnect the bike to the charger when returning it so it’s ready for the next user.
Yes. When you rent an electric cargo bike, it comes with an electronic lock that you can operate directly through the Freetrailer app.
This makes it easy to lock and secure the bike when parking.
We also recommend locking the battery together with the bike to help prevent theft.
If you return the cargo bike damaged or defective, you may be required to cover the cost of the damage.
If the assessed damage or loss is lower than the excess amount, the difference will be refunded to you once the final settlement has been completed.
If you choose our optional insurance, you won’t have to pay an excess.
If you experience a puncture or another problem with the bike, please inflate the tyre if possible or report the issue through the Freetrailer app.
This allows our service technicians to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
