After 4.5 years, Martin Damm will step down from his position as CFO of Freetrailer Group A/S, while Jonas Snorre Ferslev is appointed as the company’s new CFO.
Martin has played a central role during a period in which Freetrailer has undergone significant development. When he joined the company, revenue was approximately DKK 57 million and the organisation had 40 employees. Today, Freetrailer has more than 120 employees and revenue guidance for the year of DKK 178-185 million.
Over the years, Martin’s responsibilities have extended far beyond the traditional CFO role and have included finance, administration, investor relations and Technical Service. He has therefore played an important role in building the organisation and financial foundation that Freetrailer stands on today.
Freetrailer is now organising Finance and Technical Service as two separate areas of responsibility. As part of the new organisation, Jonas Snorre Ferslev, currently Head of Finance, is appointed CFO. Jonas brings strong and highly relevant experience in scaling marketplaces from Too Good To Go and has proven experience in bridging business strategy, finance and operational planning.
Martin has never hidden behind his title. Whenever Freetrailer has needed someone to take responsibility, Martin has done so – even when the task was far beyond what you would normally associate with a CFO. That combination of professionalism, capacity and willingness to take responsibility has made him a truly special part of Freetrailer. Martin can look back on 4.5 years in which he has played a major role in making Freetrailer significantly stronger than it was when he joined. It is an achievement he can rightly be very proud of – and one for which we owe him a big and sincere thank you. At the same time, I am pleased that Jonas will take over the CFO role. He already knows the business and our financial foundation in depth, and I have great confidence in him in the role, based on his relevant experience and approach to the task
4.5 years may not sound like that long. But in many ways, it feels as if we have packed 10 years of development into them. Freetrailer is a very different company today from the one I joined, and I am incredibly proud to have played a major role in that development. I have had the opportunity to work with almost every part of the business, and that broad responsibility has been a big part of what has made the role so exciting for me. With the new organisation, the CFO role will become more focused on Finance. I have always been most motivated by working broadly across the business, and the new organisation therefore also changes the nature of the role I have had at Freetrailer. When I look back, it will not be the numbers, quarterly reports or spreadsheets that I remember most. It will be the people, the pace, the discussions, the challenges and all the results we have created together. It has been an amazing journey, and I am very proud of the Freetrailer I am now leaving.
